Sharika Mahdi is a New Orleans-based figurative abstract artist known for vibrant compositions,
expressive movement, and dynamic colour palettes. An LSU graduate, she developed her artistic
foundation through the Young Aspirations Young Artists (YA/YA) Arts Center.
Mahdi’s work has been exhibited internationally, including presentations in New York, Paris,
and Cologne. She is represented by Basham Fine Art, which notes commissions from major
institutions including Disney and the NFL.
Her work for Disney’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and a commissioned football sculpture for the
NFL Super Bowl Committee have strengthened her standing as a contemporary artist whose
practice bridges cultural storytelling and visual energy.
